The two agents Fox Mulder and Dana Scully try to bring light into the darkness of the cases. Mulder believes in the paranormale since his sister Samantha was abducted an the age of eight by aliens. His partner Agentin Scully, a doctor, is against it and tries to find rational explanations for the mysterious cases. Furthermore, her task consists of documenting Mulders's work and to report everything, which seem suspiciously to her in any manner. Dark figures of the government, lead by the "cigarette-smoker", try to intervene in their investigations.
