Chinese Astrology: The Goat

Goats follow consciously or subconsciously an inner vision. Something drives them to get on on their path. It is important to them to make this inner vision crystal clear or to create it newly. Deliberateness is in any case better than being led by the unknowing and this is not only valid for Goats and his vision.

As long as Goats have not found their path they feel lost in this world. They tend to being over apprehensive in many areas. They are quite often a hypochondriac in this phase and believe to have caught all possible and impossible diseases. This fearfulness is an expression of their subconscious telling them that something is missing.

What the vision of the Goat looks like is unpredictable; she could strive for spiritual, artistic or scientific goals, to overcome his fears and devote himself totally to one goal. They need a goal; it is part of their being. Sometimes, this urge leads to defective development especially if the goal is of a pure materialistic nature. The Goat will not feel well with that and also will not accomplish great things. Especially female Goats set the family happiness as the utmost goal which is also not very good for their development. This frame is simply too restricted for their abilities.

What Goats need in any case is the dealing with other people. Most often their fears restrict them also in this area in form of shyness or feeling disadvantaged but they are most of the time loveable persons whose devotion is eyed often sceptically but also with admiration.

Goats are extraordinary sensitive. Their feelings play an important role in their life - in the negative as in the positive. They are kind, empathic and understanding. Generally those are very pleasant qualities from which they also profit in their lives. On the other hand the extreme of those qualities can become a burden and a hurdle.

The Goat's sensitivity makes it easy to feel into others but if that is too strong a part of him gets lost. This is a danger for Goats; not to get lost in others, that they live more in other people than in themselves. The suffering of the others will become their own suffering.

Goats make themselves quickly dependable on the judgment of others. Because the feelings and opinions of their fellowmen are so important to them they have a problem with getting criticized. This you can already see in children born under this sign at school. They often tend to be fearful of tests and take it to heart when a teacher rebukes. Adults should meet those children also with great sensitivity and thus trying to take away the fears.

Sometimes fear and empathy mutually tricks the Goat. Since the closeness to other people is important to them they often suffer from the fear of loss and loneliness. If those feelings become too strong the Goat is no longer able to keep the necessary distance to others; the distance some people really need. If this is the case the kindness and empathy of the Goat seems to be intrusive.

All of these negative aspects are dangers threatening the Goat-Born but that are only valid in extreme cases. Generally kindness and empathy are positive virtues. Fears can hinder those virtues of becoming a reality but not stop it because the Goat is a constantly evolving character moving forward and not stopping at the negatives. Eventually the Goat manages sooner or later to overcome those fears and find his vision.

The Goat in the elements

The goat represents yin earth. If the goat sign stands in its element you find in him the purest form of the goat. Since there are five elements a year sign can stand in (wood, fire, earth, metal, water) the other elements (letting aside the month, day and hour pillar) change this pure form of the goat.

The Earth Goat
This goat is more independent, more faithful than the others and a bit conservative. She is despite her (entitled) self-confidence shy, obliging and even a little naive, which could earn her disappointments. She is helpful, takes her duties seriously, does not show her emotions and is, under certain circumstances, capable of explosive fits of rage.

The Metal Goat
This goat has a fighter nature. It is sensitive, confident, vulnerable and extremely sensitive... The two last qualities are narrowly interconnected. It is very artistic and always on the search for stability and harmony, conditions, that are imperative for its creativity. Since it is an emotional person, there are also times of depression and discouragement. Furthermore it is possessive and often even authoritarian, and if it does not pay attention it can become quite knocked down due to its great jealousy.

The Water Goat
This charming, artistic and diplomatic goat depends very much on others. This egocentric person, whom is difficult to deal with, can be absolutely friendly and nice at the next moment. She loves being mothered. She will do everything so that somebody takes care of her household and removes the small, unpleasant problems of the everyday life. She has a horror of changes and can be very unhappy, if one disagrees with her.

The Wood Goat
This goat is charming, sentimental and confident and always hopes, that things resolve themselves. She has a horror of pressure, authority and the routine. This goat individual is creative and possesses a fertile imagination, which brings her biggest successes. This goat is affable, generous and always ready, to help others.

The Fire Goat
This emotional and sensitive goat often is inclined to dramatizing her problems, despite her intuition and her ability to help herself. If one disagrees with her, she can respond aggressively and occasionally even brutally. She can be strict, obstinate and unreasonable. She is very hospitable and sometimes lives under her possibilities but also believes rightly in her chances.

Chinese Sign Goat: Love & Emotion

The already mentioned qualities of the Goat already show that we deal with an emotional human being. No other partner is so sympathetic which is a big plus. If a partner is not forgiving, not understanding and offended even small problems could have big consequences. Also if someone tends to wolf down problems sooner or later it comes to conflict. This all is not a problem with the Goat. They can empathize with others and seek the clearing talk in which feelings are shown openly without accusing or hurting the other.

Problems in a Goat relationship most often go hand in hand with them not being able to keep the distance to others under certain conditions. In this respect it is difficult for them to empathize; they cannot imagine that someone needs distance in a love relationship. But if the partner is open enough to talk about this problem openly the Goat will try to be understanding.

In the long run it is essential for the Goat to be surrounded by people given them love and security. If that is not the case they build a wall around their heart in which they are still kind and empathic like before but these walls let nothing out. This is a reason why the Goat should not devote to only one person or solely the family. Goats need the contact to many people.

The Goat & the other Chinese signs

Goat and Goat
When two goats form a relationship they have the best chances to become the dream couple of the year. Hardly any other combination shows such an intimate and loving togetherness as this relationship, enviable! It is just this intimacy that is tricky. Everything happening outside of the relationship is no longer really perceived out of happiness. Friends are abandoned and the family connection suffers. Therefore the goat couple should take care of not encapsulating themselves too much of the outer world.

Goat and Monkey
The level-headed goat is very much attracted by the lively temper of the monkey. The monkey values the goat's high tolerance that does not stick to the details. But there are enough explosives between the two. Especially when the monkey overdoes his escapades the goat sooner or later loses the patience which can be indeed a reason to go their separate ways. The monkey can learn from the goat to better evaluate his limits and to engage more into the common well-being.

Goat and Rooster
The rooster believes to have found in the goat someone to entrust his even weaker moments. The goat often sees in the rooster a hero getting her out of the daily boredom. This expectant attitude brings both together but stands in the way of a stable relationship. None of the two will stay in the role the other has put him in. Only if both see the other not as a projection of the own needs but as a human being a true partnership can form.

Goat and Dog
With dog and goat, idealism and emotions meet. One considers to justify his ideals and sometimes act against the own feelings while the other thinks it is the highest happiness to submit totally to the own emotions. The dog thinks the goat is inconstant; the goat thinks the dog is a dreamer. However, both are able to get it together, especially when both work on the same project. Without such a goal this relationship is more than breakable.

Goat and Pig
The pig and the goat fall in love with each other from the very first moment. They recognise and find a soul mate in the respective other that can only rarely be found. Both like to listen to their intuition and both take a great effort in letting the other feel good. Soon they build their common nest and plan for a future happiness. Since both have a very gentle nature to treat each other and always have the best interest in each other a relationship between the pig and the goat is usually long lasting.

Goat and Rat
What may have the rat and goat in common? To the outer world both seem to come from two different worlds. That is how different they are. But their relationship is one that does not need to represent but which reveals itself only to the attentive observer in quieter tones, in fine gesture and in imperceptible gazes. Often it has taken a long time until they have found each other but from friendship at first slowly but surely a heartfelt relationship has grown, which has a good chance to last for an eternity.

Goat and Ox
Actually goat and ox get along quite well but they make it difficult for each other in the beginning. Each tries to convince the other how different one is and that this could not be in any way harmonic. However, at a closer glance those are only stale reasons because in no other than the goat the ox finds so much understanding of his sometimes odd nature and nobody could give the goat more hold in life than the ox. If both have found each other they become inseparable.

Goat and Tiger
The relationship between tiger and goat seems to others as unbalanced. Here is the mighty tiger and there the adaptable goat. Here are the scary ruler and the peace loving soul. But it is exactly this contradiction in which both fit like a key into a lock. The tiger oozes dominance and the goat answers with loving humbleness. When the goat shows too less initiative the tiger strikes a blow for it. Even if it does not look like it in this role-play both get their money's worth.

Goat and Rabbit
Rabbit and goat, that is love at first sight. If both have found each other they don't let go easily because the mutually complement each other in their basic needs and both possess the same compassionate, tender care for each other. Even if the goat has a weakness for public appearances she would never do something that gets the rabbit's full agreement. The latter on the other hand would never deny a goat's wish if he can make the goat happy.

Goat and Dragon
Until the dragon and the goat get along some time full of misunderstandings and doubts could pass by. In fact both seem to talk in different languages so that difficulties in understanding each other is a given on a daily basis. And all had started so wonderfully. The goat shows the dragon the necessary respect and the dragon is attracted by the accommodating nature of the goat. But until both have managed to adapt to the true needs of the other a lot of porcelain has been broken.

Goat and Snake
The goat too is attracted by the secretiveness of the snake but he does not want to conquer her by storm. The goat wants to put his heart into this relationship even if he will never be able to uncover all of the snake's secrets. Of course the snake likes that. In general the snake values the accommodating and warm-hearted goat a lot. In short both fit each other quite well even if the snake may feel threatened by the goat's emotional bond. In the end the snake realises due to her fine observing skills that it is true love from the goat's side.

Goat and Horse
If there is anyone knowing how to tame the invincible horse then it is the goat. With her sincere and sensitive nature the goat gives the horse not the feeling to become restricted but gives him at the same time security and confidence. The horse on the other hand values the goat's care and the love of order and perhaps learns for the very first time how good it is to not let things run away but to act strategically. Thus both benefit from each other, the ideal prerequisite for a long lasting life in love.
