The world is a wondrous place - My Landscape Photographs

You do not have to travel to faraway lands to get to appreciate sunsets, sunrises, lovely landscapes, taking your breath away. All you need is to explore your closer surroundings, take a bus, the car or the train to visit what your area has to offer. Time to sit down and enjoy the view!

I am very passionate about photography. Most of the times, any one of my cameras accompanies me wherever I go. It is not so much I want to annoy people, but most of the times you run into beautiful landscape scenes such as the double rainbows or funny looking skies lasting for just minutes before the magic is gone. I missed tons of opportunities and that's why a camera is my constant companion now. I do those pictures for me, because I cannot do without and I just want to show on this website how beautiful this world is. It is worthwhile to protect it. So think twice when you use energy resources or throw away what still can be used just for the sake of something new.

While travelling, there are four things I cannot resist, even if it takes a big detour to get to them. I do it. There were occasions when I had to get from A to B at a distance of nearly 200 miles and I ended up driving 500, just because one of those signs had pointed me either to a waterfall, a lighthouse, a cave or ancient buildings & tombs. In the UK I have become a member of the English heritage organization for England and the National Trust for Scotland and now the National Trust for Northern Ireland. Unlike in Germany, where the state or the government puts the money in maintaining worthwhile objects, in the UK it is a private matter and done by donations alone.
