Supernatural tells the story of the brothers Dean and Sam Winchester. Their mother was killed by a demon which changed their life. While Dean helps his father as a demon hunter Sam wants to lead a normal life. But his dream of normality is shattered when his girlfriend is killed in the same manner as his mother. Only wanting to help Dean out to find their vanished father he now decides to lead his brother's life.

The search for their father leads them across the country where they get to know the other side of America: the demons, the killers, the dark creatures, and the evil. .
